Fatma Elgazzar has 17 years of experience in powerlifting and is a three-time world champion in the Strongman competition, as well as a three-time champion of Egypt and the Arab world. Her journey began during her university years when she decided to change the prevailing notion that building muscle is solely for men, proving that women can achieve this too.
Fatma is capable of lifting and pushing vehicles weighing 6 tons. In her journey of success, she relies on her skills and mental toughness rather than just her appearance. She never settles for less and always seeks alternative solutions, believing that success lies in the journey, not just in the final destination. Resilience is her strong point as she believes that failure lies in giving up.
From the beginning of her career, Fatma has always been well-informed, reading extensively, and has studied many books on physiology and anatomy, as she sees daily study is essential to keeping up with the latest developments. Fatma aspires to compete in the IPF (International Powerlifting Federation) championships, the most prestigious federation in the world, where true champions compete.
She has faced numerous challenges as a coach in a male-dominated field, yet her determination and perseverance have made her an inspiring role model for many. At the Strongman competition in Dubai, despite fasting during Ramadan and feeling initially disheartened by the lack of Arab participants, she pushed through and decided to give her best effort, ultimately achieving third place, which was a moment of pride for her.
Fatma Elgazzar embodies inspiration and serves as a role model, proving that success is possible regardless of challenges. To be told “We are proud of you” means more to her than any medal.
